Holly the Dog needs a home

Meet Holly! She is about 4 years old and such a sweet, loving girl who has been dealt a bad hand so far in life. She was rescued from a high kill shelter in SC and was heartworm positive when she came to NBSR. She has been treated with the slow kill method of heartworm treatment and months and should be continued on Ivermectin (active ingredient in Heartguard) once a month, she will test negative in some months. She is good with people, although a little aloof at first (like all good German Shepherds are), she warms up quickly once she knows you are her family, she is good with other dogs, has been great with our two granddaughters who are 9 and 11. We have not tested her with cats. Holly is gaining weight nicely now (she came in to us VERY thin), we think she is ready to go to her new home now that she is steadily gaining and can continue while enjoying her new family.
NBSR has done all that we can and now it's time for Holly to find her own New Beginning in life with a wonderful family like yours.
